Dwell in the Word: Jonah

The book of Jonah invites us into a powerful story of God's sovereignty, mercy, and our calling to obey His Word. This page features video devotionals, sermons, and resources to help you dwell deeply in God's truth through the story of Jonah.

Running from God | Jonah 1:1–17

Jonah receives a clear command from the Lord—and runs the other way. In this opening chapter, we see God's sovereignty over the storm, the sea, and even pagan sailors as He pursues His rebellious prophet. God's mercy begins to shine through in unexpected places.

Salvation Belongs to the Lord | Jonah 2:1–10

From the depths of the sea and the belly of a great fish, Jonah offers a prayer of repentance. This poetic chapter reveals God's power to rescue and Jonah’s realization that true deliverance can only come from the Lord. Even at rock bottom, grace reaches downward.

The God Who Relents | Jonah 3:1–10

Jonah finally delivers God's message—and Nineveh responds with stunning repentance. From king to commoner, the people turn from their sin, and God shows mercy. This chapter reminds us that no one is beyond the reach of God's compassion.

Mercy for Others | Jonah 4:1–11

Jonah is angry—not at judgment, but at mercy. In this final chapter, God confronts Jonah’s hardened heart and shows His own heart for the lost. We’re left with a challenge: Will we share God's concern for those outside our comfort zone?
