Devotions: Who Can Stand?

Day 1: The Sovereignty of God

Scripture Reading: Psalm 46:1-3
Reflection: The shaking earth in Revelation 6 reminds us of the psalmist’s declaration: God is our refuge even when the earth gives way. The Lamb controls the seals; nothing is outside His authority. In our own lives, even chaos is under His sovereign hand.
Prayer: Lord, help me trust in Your sovereignty, knowing You hold the world and my life in Your hands. Amen.

Day 2: The Cry for Justice

Scripture Reading: Habakkuk 1:2-4
Reflection: Like the martyrs in Revelation 6, Habakkuk cried out, “How long, O Lord?” God’s response then and now is the same: He is working His plan for ultimate justice. Our cries are not ignored; they are part of His story of redemption.
Prayer: Sovereign Lord, I trust You to bring justice in Your perfect time. Strengthen my patience and faith. Amen.

Day 3: The Certainty of Judgment

Scripture Reading: 2 Peter 3:9-10
Reflection: The sixth seal unveils the terrifying certainty of God’s judgment. Peter reminds us that God’s delay is His mercy, allowing more to come to repentance. Let this truth encourage us to proclaim the gospel boldly while there is time.
Prayer: Father, thank You for Your patience. Help me to live faithfully and share the gospel with urgency. Amen.

Day 4: Refuge in Christ

Scripture Reading: Psalm 62:5-8
Reflection: In the face of judgment, the question “Who can stand?” points us to Christ, our refuge and salvation. As the psalmist reminds us, He alone is our fortress. No matter what shakes us, He is unshakable.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, You are my refuge and salvation. Help me to trust in You completely and rest in Your strength. Amen.

Day 5: The Victory of the Lamb

Scripture Reading: Romans 8:31-39
Reflection: The Lamb has overcome! His victory is ours, and nothing—not even judgment—can separate us from His love. In Christ, we not only stand, but we stand secure. Let this assurance fuel our worship and confidence today.
Prayer: Lamb of God, thank You for Your victory that secures my place in Your love. May I live boldly in this truth. Amen.
