The First Epistle of John is a reassuring yet piercing letter written to ground believers in the absolute certainty of their salvation and the reality of fellowship with the living God. In this series, Walking in the Light, we examine the Apostle John's passionate testimony of the incarnate Christ—the Word of Life made manifest—and the profound implications that truth has for our daily walk. Over the course of this study, we will confront the sharp contrasts between light and darkness, truth and deception, and the love of the Father versus the love of the world.

Throughout these messages, we will see how a living faith necessarily bears the fruit of obedience, sound doctrine, and sacrificial love within the covenant family of God. Ultimately, this letter serves as a pastoral anchor for our souls, casting out fear and filling our joy to the brim by pointing us continually to the finished work of Jesus Christ, our Advocate and Propitiation.
