What We Believe

The Bible

First Reformed Church holds to the inspired Word of God as the only rule for faith and practice. Scripture is a holy book that we receive as having authority for regulating, founding, and establishing our faith.

We also hold to the three ecumenical creeds which are the Apostles Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed.

As a Reformed Church we also hold to the historic Reformed Confessions. These are the Belgic Confession, the Heidelberg Catechism, and the Canons of Dort.

We celebrate two sacraments: the Lord’s Supper and baptism. These are a sign and seal of God promises that are received by grace through faith.
